Tradebe is a global environmental services company with a growing presence in the U.S. The company has been present in the U.S. since 2004 and has grown significantly over the last 5 years, through organic growth and acquisitions. We currently operate a network of treatment and recycling plants in the U.S. processing over 500,000 tons a year, reclaiming valuable products using a range of advanced processes and technologies. The company owns and operates the Norlite facility, located in Cohoes, NY. This facility extracts shale from its quarry for processing at its two rotary kilns, to produce an expanded shale product sold as Light Weight Aggregate to the construction sector. The facility uses waste to fuel its process.

Tradebe is currently seeking an Air Quality Engineer to join the EHS group in Cohoes, NY, at the Norlite facility. As part of the EHS team, this position is responsible for all aspects of maintaining and fulfilling the regulatory requirements of the air quality permit facility
Individual will conduct air quality analyses, assess regulatory compliance, and perform regulatory applicability evaluations; and under the Title V, develop and complete accurate air quality requirements for existing MACT, PSD, New Source Review, and other applicable standards. Individual will interact with local regulators to steward permit modifications and permit issuance; prepare emission inventory reports; quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts; and evaluate air pollution control technologies, including technical and economic feasibility of air pollution control equipment. The selected candidate will also implement environmental compliance management systems and processes, and identify operating parameters that affect compliance; prepare recommendations and reporting of results; and perform environmental compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Individual will perform air permitting applicability analyses including creating detailed emission calculations and extensively reviewing and analyzing environmental regulations; participate in the development and facilitation of air permitting training to facility based employees; and review and negotiate air permit conditions and advocate permit conditions that are consistent with operational needs and regulatory requirements. The ability to manage multiple projects with rapidly changing priorities; to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail on all aspects; and the ability to work effectively in a team environment, are required.
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, meteorology, environmental science, or related scientific field (BS or MS in Chemical or Environmental engineering is preferred) and ten years of experience in industry performing air permitting applicability analyses, and preparing air permit applications for chemical manufacturing and/or petroleum refining or waste management facilities, are required. Experience with preparing all components of air quality construction and operating permit applications, including developing complicated air permitting calculations, conducting BACT analysis, netting impacts determination, etc.; and experience with air compliance programs such as Title V, are required.
